Welcome to Noida

With all my bags packed and quite a feckless determination, i boarded the bus early in the morning to noida. It trotted over to gurgaon in 4 hours and i entered the lofty and ostentatious Delhi NCR. Further it took 2 hours for the bus to cover just 50 kms to drop me to ISBT, Kashmiri gate. I rummaged for the metro station and my friend 'thapa' picked me up from noida's metro station. We came to another friend PG and met my would be roommates for a month then, Shivam and Dewang.
They had their exams going on those days, even they had one the following day.still they were kind enough to introduce me to the ambience around and even made an adhoc arrangement for a bed for me.
The surroundings were good enough(in fact very good) with a huge park against our PG and many eateries beside some call centers where most kinds of food could be savoured at reasonable prices, quite a rapture for a gourmet like me.
The specious nature of noida hawkers was quite evident when he reckoned our bill to be 120 when it actually was 90 and then dewang blurted the sententious thespian comment 'Welcome to noida'.
I joined Siemens for my 1 month internship the following day. Though it being a networking company, I could somehow find some work regarding networks and all(though the interest as well as my attendance diminished as days passed). Well anyways, that part is none of my concern in this post.
Ya so the following Sunday, me with some other friends went out to see GIP(Great India Place).
Though i had been here before also(like one year back).

Some other strange things to be found over in the following days were the prevailing homosexuality here. One day the warden of that PG came to meet my both roommates and while he talked it gave me a whiff about he being an effeminate or something much more wrong with him. The pith of his behaviour was sloughed to me by dewang when while having a bawdy discussion that the warden was a gay. He told me stories regarding how he had encountered him in uncompromising situations with other men and also somehow even more close encounters with the college students in the PG hostel. I was quite flabbergasted when i heard that. I mean there was no such turpitude of girls around(like the case in BITS where there are just males and non-males) and even that warden was married and had two children even.but the thing was that he stayed alone in the hostel with a different and much more embellished room than others.and his insouciance towards his family may be attributed to his disinterest towards being in a family.
Though i never pilloried any form of homosexuality before and considered it rather pithy...may be coz i couldn't understand the perverse effects it could have on plebeian communities.
But that one month reprieve in Noida(now my makeshift residence being my new company's guest house in Jaipuria Greens,Ghaziabad) , rather a subtler and not seemly aspect of what is going on in these more developed parts of Northern India(particularly in New Okhla Industrial Development Authority..NOIDA )
Will continue sharing my experiences...stay tuned..and keep visiting..!
